At age 9, in Cleveland, Ohio, Janice began her creative growth at Karamu House, a Prominent Community Theatre and Performing Arts School, where she gained knowledge and experience in musical theatre, drama, and creative writing for 23 years.

In her teens, she began singing Jazz, with the ability to sound exactly like the original recording. Chaperoned by her parents, at age 14, Janice received her first Jazz Gig at The Jamaica Breeze. The supper club owners, Bennie and Betty Foy sponsored her voice lessons at the Cleveland Institute of Music for several years.

As an actor/student of Cuyahoga Community College Theatre Company, Janice surprisingly wrote seven poems into songs for a new play.

After a 5-year run on Broadway in the Tony Award-Winning The WIZ as Ms. Glinda, the Good Witch, and a Pit-Singer, Janice achieved a Split-Publishing Deal with Famous Music & Paramount Pictures for 27 of her original compositions. She has 100 songs: Classical, Country, Gospel, Jazz, Pop, Praise and Worship, R&B and Rock.

2 Singleton Songs are recorded, one by Capitol Records Artist, Jazz Violinist the late NOEL POINTER. The second is by Warner Bros R&B Group - SOUTH ROAD CONNECTION. EASY LOVING FEELING was the pick-of-the-week on FM Radio Station WBLS. You can still listen to it on YouTube.

From 2012 to 2021, she worked daily as a Featured Background Actor in most films and television shows produced in New York City.

 

Janice conceived LIGHT, a 33-minute One-Woman Music Motivation Show. She then wrote her 1st book: The 9-Chapter Practice Manual of Positive THOUGHTS, WORDS, and ACTIONS to Help Make Our Planet a More Loving Place to Live, and music SONGS OF LIGHT, reflective of the book's chapter titles.

Since living in Canada, Janice has written a 2nd Book, A Positive Behavior Practice Book: For All Ages.
